The gunman crashed his truck near the school at 11:28 a.m. and walked toward the building in the open, carrying an AR-15. Exterior cameras recorded him firing at the school from the parking lot. He entered through an unlocked door at 11:33 a.m. Five minutes of an armed person on camera, with no automated alert. Twenty-one people were killed.
